Since
its dramatic redesign in version 11, Firefox has undergone a few more
aesthetic changes. The bulky toolbar is gone, replaced instead by a row
of tabs on the top of the window, and the bookmark bar is hidden by
default. Of course these can all be changed through the options, but the
simplified interface works well--especially on smaller displays where
space is at a premium.
Firefox
is now available on multiple platforms, including Mac OS X and Linux,
as well as portable devices, so it has to be something really special
about it since so many people are using it.
The
first contact with Firefox shouldn't be surprising since most browsers
have already adopted tabbed browsing. It comes with a tabbed interface
so opening multiple pages at the same page isn't a problem anymore. But
what's under the hood is what really makes the difference.
